Blackhawk senior in Business Information Systems, Tristan Fitzgerald, passed his Microsoft Office Specialist certification test in Excel. The MOS is just one of many certifications that Tristan received within the two years that he attended the BIS program. His other certifications are the Certiport Internet Core Concepts (IC3), which encompasses Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications, and Living Online tests. The IC3 is a precursor to any IT certification and will articulate with many colleges for an Intro to Technology course. This articulation can save students valuable time and money. Certification tests are very costly, and are sometimes a post-secondary school requirement. These costs are tacked onto already high tuition costs.
Both certifications are global (recognized around the world) and never expire. Your resume and portfolio will catch the eyes of many employers, who are looking for that perfect job applicant. Free access to these tests are just one of the many benefits students can take advantage of by attending the Business Information Systems program.
Because of all of his BIS accomplishments, Tristan, will be joining the Army after graduation as one of Beaver County’s students straight out of high school to be accepted into the Cyber Operations Specialist training program. What can Business Information Systems do for you?
